The Kingsford Homestead
The Kingsford Homestead is located in the Barossa Valley, not far from Tanunda. The whole area has a long history of German settlement and the owners of the homestead like to reflect this.
Our picture shows the partly finished facility, but by the many wine bottles, you can see that it is already used.
Kingsford Homestead was the setting for the television drama “McLeod’s Daughters” and was purchased by the current owners Stefan and Leanne Ahrens when the filming was stopped in 2009 and is currently undergoing a large redevelopment.
The Ahrens family has a long German history that goes back to the 18 century and this influenced the decision to have 2 Kegel 9-pin bowling lanes installed.
The nearby town of Tanunda still operates a traditional Kegel lane that was first established in 1858.
